In order to respond to the increasing demand for more
variety in programs, the Joy of Sports Foundation has
developed programs that combine all of our core sports
offerings, as well as our motor skills/ physical play
(non-sport specific) components. These highly acclaimed
programs are designed to offer children an enjoyable
and enriching educational experience, especially in
summer camps and programs lasting for more than eight
weeks.
Depending upon the age group being served and the facilities
available, the programs include a combination of the
following activities: soccer, basketball, tennis and
JSF’s Star Program (non-sport specific for pre-schoolers
and grade schoolers). The “Plus” component
can include: nutritional education, conflict resolution,
environmental education, and an off-court life skills
program. Camps can be offered during spring break, summer
and other breaks in the school year. The beauty of this
curriculum is that it can be customized on a very high
level.
The goal of all JSF programs is to help participating
children develop the life skills they need to succeed
in school and in life. JSF uses a wide variety of physical
activities to help children of all ages develop themselves
in five key areas: concentration, relaxation, cooperation,
imagination, and self-esteem. JSF is offering on-going
Multi-Sport Plus after-school and summer camp programs
in Washington DC, San Diego, and San Francisco.
