Star - someone who saw the Star in you!
Steps For Submission:
I would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce
myself as Joy of Sports’ new Head Coach and invite
you to participate in an innovative campaign to recognize
the all-stars in our lives that have helped us achieve
success in the game of life.
Prior to becoming Executive Director, I worked closely
with the founder of Joy of Sports, Andrew Oser, as National
Program Director. As I spent time on the courts and
fields watching our coaches work so diligently to “see
the star in every child” I found myself reflecting
on those that saw the star in me. Calvin Hayes was a
baseball coach that challenged me to be a leader and
to live up to my full potential both on and off the
field. Tom Roberts was a minister that gave me just
the gentle encouragement I needed as a teen struggling
with a heartbreaking loss. We’ve all been comforted
and challenged in ways that not only helped us survive,
but more importantly, helped us grow and thrive. This
is what we aim to do every day through our programs
and services. This is what unites us as a Joy of Sports
Team, so we would like to hear and share YOUR
story….
Joy of Sports Foundation is proud to launch the “Who
Saw the STAR in You” Campaign.
Please take a few moments to reflect on your life experiences
(sports and otherwise) and share with us your story.
Who was there to help you believe in yourself, and your
abilities? Was it a coach? Perhaps a teacher? On the
heels of both Mother’s & Father’s Day,
maybe you would like to honor one of your parents? Whoever
it was, we would like to share this with our Joy of
Sports Foundation community as a means to celebrate
and inspire our efforts. So, if you’re interested
in a unique way to support the Joy of Sports Foundation
while also honoring a special person in your life, I
invite you to submit your nominee(s) for the Joy of
Sports All-Star Team. Here’s how:

So please start by sharing your story. In addition,
with a donation of $50 or more, we will recognize your
“All-Star” on our website along with a brief
description of their impact on your life. We encourage
everyone to visit our site frequently and learn more
about how so many lives have been touched by a mentor,
friend, or coach who saw the potential in a child.
Thanks for your ongoing support and your participation
in our “Who Saw
the STAR in You” Campaign. We
are proud of our track record and enthusiastic about
our quest to build a championship team that makes a
significant and lasting impact on children and families
in our communities. You are an essential player on this
team so we hope you’ll step up to the plate and
